De Panne Beach

The beach of De Panne is accessible for everyone! If you want to spend a day at the beach in a wheelchair, you can use adapted wheelchairs that allow you to move along the beach, across the sand - even up to the waterline - without any problems.

There are 3 different beach wheelchairs available:

Hippocampo: for active walks
Handiquatro: classic model
Marina-Anfi: allows you to go into the sea

The beach wheelchairs can be borrowed at the beach aid station from 10:30 to 18:30.

15 June to 15 September, at the beach aid station in the middle of the beach (reservation number: +32 (0)492 11 41 74 )
16 September to 14 June, at Tourism De Panne, Zeelaan 21 (reservation number: 058 42 18 18)
Due to the limited amount of wheelchairs, it is better to book in advance. Please present your ID card when collecting a wheelchair. The wheelchairs can be hired free of charge. Renting is possible for a maximum of 1 week.

Dogs are prohibited during the period 1 April to 1 October.

Outside of this period, only leased dogs are allowed.

If the rescue stations are not open, a general swimming prohibition applies.

Flags for swimmers:

Green Flag – swimming is allowed.

Yellow Flag – you may swim, but all floating and inflatable objects are prohibited in the sea due to offshore wind.

Red Flag – swimming, bathing, and other activities in or on the sea are prohibited.

There is plenty of parking spaces available, free and private.
