  • DESCRIPTION:

    Blankenberge is a long sandy beach with a higher level lively promenade full of restaurants, and accessible entrances to both the beach and promenade.
    There are toilets, and several restaurants at beach level with playgrounds and umbrellas rental and beach chair rental.

     

    SEA, BEACH & PROMENADE

    Winter or summer, rain or shine. You can always recharge your batteries here. And those who enjoy tranquillity and lonely beaches can enjoy these to their hearts’ content before or after the peak season. Because you’ve got that beach, without any beach huts, all to yourself then. A wonderful way to get a breath of fresh air, on your own, with your family, or with your friends. You can clear your head in no time.

     

    Lifeguards

    The lifeguards are on standby in the guarded areas from 14 May to 18 September 2022 at the following times:

    • 14 May to 14 June 2022: during weekends and on public holidays from 10:30 to 18:30
    • 15 June to 18 September 2022: every day from 10:30 to 18:30
    • The lifeguard station east of the Pier is only open in July and August from 10:30 to 18:00

     

    Beach Bars

    From the Easter holiday until October you can relax on the beach while sipping a cocktail in one of the many trendy beach bars. The beach bars must be dismantled before Sunday 16 October 2022.
    Below you will find a map on which you can see where a certain beach bar is located.

    The beach bars close at 20:00 On Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, the beach bars may remain open until 21:00

     

     

    ACCESSIBILITY

    Next to Restaurant Bel Air at Zeedijk 154, 8370 Blankenberge, Belgium, there is a tunnel to access the beach directly and a ramp to access the promenade level.
    There is also a catwalk to reach the sea when it is a high tide.

     

     

    PARKING

    • You can park in the red zone at an hourly rate: € 2,50/hour (09:00-19:00).
    • You can park in the orange zone for a maximum amount of € 7,50/day.
    • You can park for up to 2 hours in the blue zone using your parking disk (9:00-18:00)

    You can also use a private car park.

     

     

    DOGS ON THE BEACH

    Dogs are only allowed in areas of the beach in Blankenberge set out specifically for this purpose and at certain times.

    Between Oosterstaketsel and J. Gadeynehelling:

    • From Easter holidays until 15 September: dogs not allowed.
    • From 15 September to the Easter holidays: dogs allowed on a leash.

    From J. Gadeynehelling in the direction of Zeebrugge (up to Zeebrugge border):

    • From 15 March to 15 October: dogs admitted on a leash.
    • From 16 October to 14 March: dogs permitted off-leash.

    From Westerstaketsel towards Wenduine:

    • Dogs allowed without a leash all year round.
