Zoo Planckendael

The Planckendael Zoo is an impressive zoo located in Mechelen, Belgium. There is a huge variety of animals and the enclosures are very well designed. Among all the animals you will find giraffes, elephants, lions, cheetahs, zebras, koalas, camels, birds, reptiles, fishes, tigers, penguins and a lot more!

The animals are not the only attractions, there you will find a lot of playgrounds for the kids, climbing places and several restaurants! The zoo is organized by continent of origin of the animal and there is on playground or playing zone on each continent area.

We think it is important to make as many places as possible accessible to wheelchair users, so here you can find free wheelchairs for the persons with disabilities. Also, there are Special tours, Tourism for Autism and toilets for people with special needs.

ZOO Planckendael is big, it makes you hungry! And then you can go to one of the eateries. There are many different places inside the zoo, like the Toepaja, The stork, Bonobo snack, Hathi's corner and a lot more, where you can eat a snack and have a drink.
