    About the Remouchamps Caves

Located in the heart of the Liège Province, the Remouchamps Caves offer an unforgettable underground journey. Visitors explore over 1,000 meters of stunning galleries and chambers on foot, featuring spectacular stalactites and stalagmites. The highlight of the visit is a serene 700-meter underground boat ride—the longest in Europe accessible to tourists.

The Remouchamps Caves have captivated visitors since 1828. While early explorers relied on resin torches that barely revealed the cave’s secrets, today’s lighting unveils its full natural splendor. Modern visitors venture far beyond what 19th-century travelers could access

    Highlights include:

    • The Cathedral: A majestic natural hall with a 40-meter ceiling.
    • The Palm Tree: A unique rock formation where a stalactite and stalagmite meet.
    • The Great Drapery: A breathtaking 7-meter-high mineral curtain formed over hundreds of thousands of years.
    • Prehistoric heritage: The caves were inhabited by Paleolithic hunters over 8,000 years ago.
    • Educational mission: Dedicated programs and resources are available for schools, focusing on geology, ecosystems, and conservation.

The caves are open year-round (except from January 6 to 31), and passionate guides ensure a magical experience for all ages.

  • BIRTHDAYS & EVENTS:

On special occasions like Halloween, Easter, and Carnival, the caves come to life with themed events and festive activities, adding a playful twist to the wonder of this underground world.

  • MUST KNOW:

Dogs are not allowed, except assistance dogs under conditions.

Recomendo!!
