  • DESCRIPTION:

    Ludothèque des Marolles

From the best known to the most surprising, you will find nearly 300 games at the toy library. Whether you want to play solo, with your friends or in a group, you will always find the game you need. Even video games are occasionally invited to the toy library for collective discoveries.
The most assiduous ludo players also take part in board game festivals every year (Jeu T’aime, Brussels Games Festival) and holiday camps.

    THE TOYS LIBRARY

It constitutes a privileged action tool within the framework of the missions of the MJ, namely the training of young citizens, responsible, active, critical and supportive. Through its ability to transmit, in particular, a sense of the framework, of respect for others and of reflection, the game naturally finds its place in the House. During the school year, the toy library is open to young people aged 8 to 16.

THE FUN TOOL AT THE SERVICE OF ASSOCIATIONS

If the game is a relevant tool for working with young people, it can also be used with other audiences, regardless of age: literacy groups, class groups, work teams, parents-children...
By developing both life skills and know-how, board games are a real educational resource for all social workers. This is why the Marolles toy library has chosen to open its doors to associations and institutions wishing to use the game within their actions.

    This goes through :

Loans to non-profit organizations and institutions (schools, social services, etc.). The toy librarian welcomes you by appointment to advise you and help you find the games suited to your goals.
Reception of groups within the toy library. Outside the usual entertainment hours, the toy library can accommodate groups with accompanying adults, for game sessions led by the toy librarian. The session is prepared in consultation with the partner ASBL, to adapt it to the objectives: learning new knowledge, cooperative work, etc.
Advice and information: the toy librarian is available to inform and advise you on the use of the game in the context of the work carried out with the various audiences.
The implementation of partnerships: the toy library of the Marolles can develop partnerships, around an action or over the longer term, in particular to encourage the meeting of the public around the board game.
