  • DESCRIPTION:

    Caves of Han

The Caves of Han are a natural wonder in the heart of the Belgian Ardennes, near the village of Han-sur-Lesse. The caves are part of the first Belgian UNESCO Global Geopark and have been awarded three Green Michelin Stars for their exceptional beauty.

The caves were formed by the river Lesse, which carved out stunning chambers and galleries over millions of years. The caves are equipped with LED lighting, which enhances their natural splendor and reduces their environmental impact. Visitors can choose between two types of tours: the Cave Discovery, a 1h15 tour through the most beautiful parts of the cave, or the Cave Journey, a 2h tour that explores the cave in depth.

The highlight of the visit is Origin, a spectacular sound and light show that takes place 110 meters underground and retraces the history of the cave. The visit also includes access to the PrehistoHan museum, which displays the archaeological treasures found at the bottom of the river.

The Caves of Han are a must-see for anyone who loves nature, history and adventure. They are open all year round and offer various activities and events for all ages.

Right next to the Caves there is also a Wildlife Park Han-sur-Lesse is a 250-hectare natural reserve that lies next to the Caves of Han in the Belgian Ardennes. It is part of the Famenne-Ardenne UNESCO Global Geopark and hosts over 650 animals native to Europe, including the European Big 5: the bison, the wolf, the brown bear, the lynx and the wolverine.

Visitors can explore the park on foot or by safari-bus and enjoy stunning views of the old Lesse valley and the Chasm of Belvaux, where the river disappears into the limestone soil and forms the cave1. The park also offers various activities and events for all ages, such as feeding sessions, guided tours and night walks1.
